Shannon Graham, D.V.M

Dr. Shannon Graham, a true New Englander at heart, grew up in a small hill town in the Berkshires, where she developed her love for animals and for the great outdoors.  Shannon got her first horse, Brendon, for her 13th birthday - he was a Morgan/TB cross, he was her once in a lifetime horse and sealed the deal on her growing passion for horses.

Shannon attended the University of Vermont and graduated with a B.S in Animal Science.  She then lived in Hawaii for 7 months where she worked as an intern at a dolphin intelligence and cognition research laboratory.  Prior to attending veterinary school, she worked as a white water raft guide on the Deerfield River in Western Massachusetts. Shannon then traveled to Canada in 2001 to the University of Prince Edward Island where she attended the Atlantic Veterinary College.  After obtaining her DVM, Dr. Graham, completed a one year equine internship in NY/CT and then a two year residency in Field Service and Sports Medicine at New Bolton

Center, at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Graham became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) specializing in Equine Practice in 2010,  re-certifying in 2019. After her residency, Dr. Graham returned back to NY/CT to work in a busy equine surgical referral hospital for 11+ years. In 2014, Dr. Graham also became certified in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture (cVMA) through Colorado State University. After working in a rigorous hospital setting Dr. Graham realized her passion for ambulatory work with her professional interests including neonatal care, reproductive management of mares, metabolic diseases and geriatric care.

Shannon, her husband, and her 4-legged vet assistant 'Willow' relocated to Keene in July 2019 to start a family - they welcomed Joshua (a bit earlier than expected) in October.  Shannon is looking forward to meeting the rest of the MEVS patients and clients and settling down into the Monadnock region.

Angela Leak LVT

Veterinary Technician

Angela is a lifelong horse lover, owner and rider. After graduating high school she attended Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre and earned a Riding Master VI certification.

After working at various farms for a few years, she switched gears, went back to school and received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology in 2000 from NHCTC in Stratham, NH. She then spent 12 years working as a small animal tech until the birth of her first child. At that point she decided to take a break from full-time work and focus on her family and small farm.

Fast forward a few (or many) years and Angela decided to step back into veterinary work, this time in equine medicine. She is loving spending a few days each week with Monadnock Equine, combining her love of veterinary medicine with her very favorite large animals.

When she's not working with Dr. Sullivan or Dr. Graham you can find her at home in Mason parenting her two children (Eden, age 16 & Jackson, age 7,) shoveling manure from her 3 horses, trying to find time for her incredibly tolerant husband of 21 years, Tim, and telling her two unruly dogs to get off the furniture.
